We're all done for this year's compilation.

All emails have been sent, Santa has made his rounds, and every donation has been counted.
We didn't quite make our first year's total, but I refuse to let that discourage me from continuing the compilation next year. I, of all people, know that times have not been easy for a lot of us, and I sincerely appreciate everyone who took the time to write, create banners, beta stories, and of course, donate to Toys for Tots.Never doubt for a minute that every single donation makes a difference in a life of a child.

Again, thank you all so very much. May you all be as blessed as you have blessed others, and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Never Too Late

It's time to pull out that list and check it twice. 

Cards mailed? 

Shopping done?  

Gifts wrapped? 

Cookies baked? 

Stockings hung by the chimney with care? 

And last, but not least - have you made your donation to Toys for Tots? 

We're down to the final few hours for donations - just a little over twelve hours to go. The busy elves at Christmas Wishes have been furiously scrambling around,  compiling all the stories and banners,  making last minute tweaks, and adding pretty little details to this year's compilation. Don't miss out on your opportunity to receive a copy. 

Just a $5 donation to Toys for Tots will not only help bring a smile to a child's face on Christmas morning, but it will also ensure that the 2013 Christmas Wishes Compilation is delivered to your inbox on Christmas Day. 

We're at about half of last year's donations total, and not even halfway to this year's goal. At this point, I'd be thrilled if we could match the first year's total of $750. I know the economy has been extremely hard, and I so appreciate everyone who was able to find a few dollars to donate. 

I'll check back in later with another update, and see if we can't get a couple more story snippets posted, too.

Banners and Summaries Part 2

*dusts off hands, and stares proudly at empty inbox*

All the banners and summaries that have been received have been uploaded. There are still a couple of banners pending due to a couple late sign-ups - we are working with artists to get them completed, and once they are, we will be loading them.

I also have a lot of the stories already in my hot little hands! 

As a result of this fortuitous coincidence, we will be featuring short teasers from the stories over the next eleven days. Get ready, because there are some wonderful submissions this year! 

Don't forget that donations will be accepted right up to the stroke of Midnight on Christmas Eve. We are only at $250 thus far, and our goal of $1500 looks likely unobtainable. However, those of you who have been with me the past few years know that I NEVER give up hope! I won't call it until the last possible second, so please lease please - get those donations in. As little as $5 will not only provide a gift for a child, but will also net you a lovely little stocking stuffer of your own to enjoy over the winter holidays.

Banners & Summaries

We've received most of the banners and summaries for this year's stories. About a third of them are uploaded, and the rest will be up tomorrow. Check them out on the 2013 Banner page- there are some great ones so far, and this is just the tip of the iceberg!

Again, a massive thank you to all the authors, betas, and artists that help make the compilation possible - we'd never be able to do this without each and every one of you.

Blog Updates, Looming Deadlines, and Donations Needed

I hope this post finds everyone well and gearing up for their holidays!

We are one month out from the deadline for banner and summary submissions, so authors mark your calendars and be sure to get them in on time.

We have only had a few donations, but I am hoping, now that back-to-school and Halloween have passed, that everyone is settling into their Christmas spirit and we will start seeing the donations coming in. Everyone has always been so supportive of this cause, and the children it helps, and I have every confidence you all will be again.

Author signups are stilll open, and will be accepted right up until December 10th, when banners and submissions are due. I see many familiar names on the list, as well as a few new ones- and I know of a couple who haven't sent their information in yet  - y'all can expect an email or a Facebook message from me later ;).

If you haven't made a donation yet, I hope you will soon. The authors who donate their time to write these submissions, and the artists who design their banners, do so from the depths of their hearts, out of a love for children. Please show them the support their efforts deserve. All donations are made directly to Toys for Tots and benefit children who otherwise wouldn't experience the joy of a visit from Santa Claus on Christmas morning. For them, I hope you can find it in your hearts to open your wallets.

Donations updated!

I'm overwhelmed, simply amazed at the generosity of readers dedicated to their favorite authors. To date, we have $320 in donations. There's still time for more, though. Donations will continue to be accepted until 11:59pm EST. I would love to see our total break $500.

I have a new admin on the blog. Welcome to Trish, who has graciously offered to take over posting teasers and banners for me. She's excited to get going, so expect to see more soon.
